The “magnet” is our newly opened event space on the ground floor of Thinkfarm (former Medieneck). The large, bright room serves as both a break room for coworkers and an open space for the neighborhood and community in Eberswalde.
In the morning, the magnet is used by Thinkfarm coworkers as a lively exchange space. Guests with Day Tickets can also work here for 8,95 € a day. In the afternoon, social, ecological and cultural initiatives from Eberswalde can use the room free of charge thanks to our cooperation with WHG. The magnet can also be rented for workshops and other events.
Why „magnet”?
The name of our community space originates from the HO-Kaufhaus Magnet, an old department store once located in this building. Today we take the meaning literally: We want to create a place that attracts new ideas and brings people into contact.
So far, initiatives such as Marktschwärmer, the Repair Café of Hebewerk e.V. and the African cultural association Palanca e.V. are already using the space for their events. The magnet‘s large kitchen makes it possible to cook and eat together. For regular events, initiatives can even get their own storage in the Thinkfarm.
